About
Biography – About The Author
I never seem to know where to start with these, so I guess I will start with the basics. I am a Canadian who loves to read and write fiction. When I was younger, pre-high school, I read a lot. Like a lot of teenagers though, I fell out of it, probably because it wasn’t “cool” or some other dumb reason. When you’re forced to read books (thanks high school English classes…), the desire to read can end up diminishing. Oddly enough, the desire to write was still there, so at least some of my interests stuck around. It wasn’t until I reached my first year of college that I started reading for pleasure again.
The first book I picked up was a copy of Harry Potter that my mom had. After that, I was hooked. While I didn’t go back and rediscovery old favourites, I found new ones. My favourite author is Jane Austen and I absolutely love reading fantasy and some science fiction.
The Blog – About The Site
At some point, I decided to purchase my own domain name, but I had no idea what I wanted to do with it. When I first started with this, I had originally intended to go into graphic design and web development, so it became my portfolio. I quickly discovered that that path was not going to work for me. All traffic was redirected to my other website until I figured out what to do with it.
A good friend of mine writes a blog and the idea sounded interesting. I figured it would be something that I could do. Quickly, I discovered there was a lot of work in maintaining a blog. I also had no idea what I was even going to write about. Eventually, I settled on book reviews, but there wasn’t a whole lot of books out there that were new that I could quickly read and discuss.
I decided to heck with it and just decided to write about what I was reading at the time. I enjoy old and new books. Many of these books end up being adapted for the screen, so I added those into my posts as well.
Every once in a while, I will share my thoughts on a particular topic or just a general post regarding the recent goings on. Sometimes it’s just nice to write something down about what is going on in your head. I imagine at some point I will expand on my writings because there is no reason not to. Sometimes I just enjoy writing about whatever pops into my head.
What Lies Ahead
I’m not sure what the future will hold. I certainly don’t think that I will ever be consistently posting anything, but who knows. One day, I may be inspired. I will continue to post my book, movie and television reviews, with the odd video game or other miscellaneous thing. Keep a weathered eye on the horizon. You never know what will pop up next.
